Everyone likes to think that they’re a bit of an angel, at least some of the time. Quarter Angel was established in 2010 by Jessica, who really can say that she is 25% angel by virtue of her grandmother being born Miss Angel.
Jessica studied jewellery and silversmithing at Sir John Cass at London Metropolitan University, gaining five awards from The Goldsmiths’ Company and the British Jewellers’ Association along the way. Quarter Angel is proud to have been selected as part of the Kickstart project for outstanding new designers in 2012.
Prior to making jewellery, and establishing Quarter Angel in 2010, Jessica worked in conservation and environmental education in some of London’s best open spaces. A change to jewellery design happened almost by accident. It is still sometimes a surprise to her that she can be so happy doing something inside and sitting down!
London based Quarter Angel’s jewellery is largely inspired by the freedom and sense of space found on north London’s Hampstead Heath.
The Skyline Collection is inspired by the magnificent views of the city seen rising above the trees at the higher points of the Heath. Distinctive, everyday pieces are created by etching silver and acrylic, as this precise process creates strong, striking images.
Bird, Quarter Angel’s latest collection, is inspired by a magpie called Dave. The collection combines mixed metals, stones, feathers and a hint of mischief to create striking pieces for special occasions as well as others for everyday wear.
